The making of a gasket
Under control now.
I now can design, draw and cut my own gaskets up to A4 in size.
It took a bit of experimentation, but sitting in front of me is a pile of Royal Enfield manifold gaskets.
The process I settled on was;
- Scan the original
- In inkscape convert the scan to a path, This produces a nice edge but probably isn't necessary
- Sketch part in Freecad and export as an Svg file with line width of less than 0.5mm
- Check the dimensions in inkscape and export as a jpeg
- import into Silhouette cutting machine and set top 6 depth and 25 force
- trace, and send
I would have to say it did produce quite a nice gasket,
I can now print and cut gaskets that will allow clearances to be adjusted.
Finally!
