Kawasaki tank 3

Image
29/10/2025   08:53 Kawasaki tank 3 Finally was making some progress  Got the large dents out and was using the slapper with a dolly behind. Got the shape back into the tank  and was up to the deep dent at the front. As you can see from the picture it was really deep and sharp, no amount of ice is going to shift that. It will take a lot of force from a puller to move it My plan was to get the dents out , welded the holes , then fill the small indentations with the Mig welder  before sanding lightly , as there is not much metal to play with, to get smooth. Unfortunately, I will never know , the customer suddenly wanted the tank back.  Half completed. One must do what the customer wants. I think I have only been told half of the story behind this tank . Oh well let's move on and the customer wanted it back,,,,,,                   weld pull, grind  Ice got it here  shaping the line you can see the amo...

The making of a gasket

Under control now. I now can design, draw and cut my own gaskets up to A4 in size. It took a bit of experimentation, but sitting in front of me is a pile of Royal Enfield manifold gaskets.  The process I settled on was; Scan the original In inkscape convert the scan to a path, This produces a nice edge but probably isn't necessary   Sketch part in Freecad and export as an Svg file with line width of less than 0.5mm  Check the dimensions in inkscape and export as a jpeg  import into Silhouette cutting machine  and set top 6 depth and 25 force   trace, and send   I would have to say it did produce quite a nice gasket,     I can now print and cut gaskets that will allow clearances to be adjusted.   Finally!
